Forest Bathing

Take in your surroundings, immerse yourself and discover a blissfully mindful state.

“I feel so different to how I felt when I started, so supported and held. It’s just been an amazing experience.”

Have you tried forest bathing?

Forest bathing, also called shinrin-yoku, originated in Japan over 40 years ago, and is growing in popularity here in the UK.

It involves spending immersive time in woodland and forests, really appreciating nature by using all five senses to experience a deep sense of relaxation.

I take this one step further with Forest bathing+, which is a particularly mindful type of practice that builds on traditional shinrin-yoku by including additional yogic techniques, such as breathwork and meditation.

What does forest bathing involve?

If you have not tried it before, firstly, let me confirm that forest bathing does not involve getting wet…even if the literal translation of‘ shinrin-yoku’ is forest bath or forest shower!

The sessions are tailored to each person in the group, but you can expect a series of invitations and easy-to-follow activities which will allow you time to appreciate nature, take in your surroundings, immerse yourself and discover a blissfully mindful state.

Who should try forest bathing? What are the benefits?

Forest bathing is beneficial to everyone. It is an opportunity to step away from our busy day-to-day lives and spend time outdoors in a more meaningful and focused way.

The practice of forest bathing is supported by decades of research showing a huge range of positive health benefits, both during the sessions and for some time afterwards. These include:
